Rick has over 30 years’ experience in the insurance industry. He worked at Mass Mutual as a general agent before founding Crosby and Co. Insurance Agency in 1996 with headquarters in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Upon the acquisition of a property and casualty insurance agency in Summerville, he changed the firm name to its current Crosby Insurance Group.
Rick is committed to serving his clients and offering value in helping them decide which insurance protection they need. He sees the importance of retirement income planning as 10,000 people per day turn age 65 in America.
A native of Columbia, South Carolina, Rick graduated from the Citadel in 1975 earning a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. He continued his education at The American College, where he became a Registered Health Underwriter (RHU).
Rick is a very active member of the community and gives back in many ways. His current community involvement includes: Chairman of the Commission of Mt. Pleasant Waterworks, Representative for the Town of Mt. Pleasant’s Economic Development Committee, Member of Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, Life Member of the Million Dollar Round Table, Founding Member of Harbour Club, Founding Member of The Citadel Football Association, Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow and Member of the Hibernian Society.
In past years, Rick has served as president of groups including: The Mt Pleasant Rotary Club, East Cooper Youth Foundation, Charleston Area Citadel Club, Citadel Brigadier Foundation and the Citadel Alumni Association. He is a past member of the Citadel Alumni Association Legislative Affairs Committee and a graduate of the Chamber of Commerce Leadership Development Program.
Rick is a deacon and an elder of Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church. He currently resides in Mount Pleasant with his wife, Marie and has two children and two stepchildren. The family loves to spend time in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the Carolinas, and Rick works with retirement clients there.
